HUNDREDS of fans turned out to see X Factor finalists Kingsland Road take to the stage in Redditch.

The band, who were voted out of the show in week four of the live performances, headlined a night of acts at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre last Friday (December 6) which included new boyband Overload and Redditch girls Abbie Cope and Lucy May Walker.

Ahead of their performance Kingsland Road’s Thompson said the group always loved coming back to the Midlands and were excited about seeing their Redditch fans.

“Before we were on the show we were sleeping on the floor in East London and doing a gig every few weeks and now we are doing a few a day. Our lives have just completely changed,” he said.

“It’s been non stop since leaving the X Factor, but it couldn’t be better. It’s been gig after gig and going from place to place and it’s incredible.”

Josh added: “We can’t wait to see all the fans and we will stamp Kingsland Road on that stage in Redditch tonight.”

Talking about their time on the show, the boys said they did not regret anything and it had given them the best platform to make a name for themselves.

Connor said: “We have watched it since leaving, but it’s hard to. We miss Rough Copy the most, they were our main boys. I think the last episode we watched we stopped at a little pub on the way to Wales, it was really strange.”

Unfortunately their favourites were voted out at the weekend but they agreed Sam Bailey was most likely to take the title.

The group also took part in a meet and greet with lucky fans along with new boyband Overload.

The four piece group, which includes Joey, Ryan, Ollie and Jordi, were put together after being scouted through YouTube and are tipped to be the next big thing.

Jordi said: “Our aim is to bring something new and show our personalities. Obviously we get compared to One Direction, but our music is quite different. We call it cheeky pop.

“We have been really excited about performing and meeting the fans and making new ones. We love performing and we can’t wait to show Redditch what we can do and fans can look out for our single next year.”
