BARMY bangers including cheese and Marmite, vodka and Worcester sauce and even banana were among ideas mooted as part of a sausage competition.
Judges at Becketts Farm in Wythall whittled down dozens of entries to declare Vicky Turnbull's pork sausage with cranberry, smoky bacon and sage seasoning the winner. Her Vicktory creations will now be presented at the BBC Good Food Show and at the farm shop.
Head butcher Mike Grice said: "Sausages are one of the biggest selling items on the butchers counter at Becketts, we’re known for our quality bangers so we were obviously keen to find a recipe suggestion that would sit well amongst the others on offer. In the end we felt there was a clear winner from over 100 entries, a banger that was befitting of a place on our counter."
