STUDENTS from NEW College are preparing to follow the yellow brick road to the Artrix in Bromsgrove where they will stage their version of the Wizard of Oz.

Teenagers from levels two and three have been busy rehearsing, designing and crafting the set ready to wow audiences with Angela Burt's stage adaptation of L Frank Baum's classic children's novel.

Performances take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday (December 11 and 12).

Director Chris Worrell and Jacqueline McGonagle-Turner, performing art course leader at the college, have been working hard with the cast.

On the night Rianna Hanly will be starring as Dorothy, Kriss Hall as the Tin Man, Zak Lovell as the Lion and Dan Boland as the Scarecrow.

Jacqueline said: "It is going to be a very bright and contemporary performance from all the students involved."

John Callaghan, the college's principal, added: "As a college, we’re privileged to have such strong links with Artrix and it’s brilliant to see the students making the most of their incredible facilities."

Tickets cost £6 or £4 for under 16s. To book visit www.artrix.co.uk or call 01527 577330.
