A PAIR of daytime burglaries at homes in Alvechurch could be linked say police.
The break-ins both happened on Tuesday, November 26 and have prompted a warning to homeowners to ensure their properties are secure.
A home on School Lane was burgled about 4.30pm after thieves got in through the back garden and stole jewellery, including some of great sentimental value.
About two hours later another burglary was discovered in Redditch Road where rooms had been searched and two Dell laptops stolen along with 500 Euros.
Det Con Tony Flannagan, from the Bromsgrove Anti-Burglary Team, said: "It’s quite possible these break-ins are linked bearing in mind they both happened during the day and in the same area.
"We urgently want to hear from you if you saw any suspicious activity near either address, anyone hanging around who looked out of place or any vehicles which were parked there in unusual circumstances. If you saw or heard anything please don’t delay in coming forward as that information could be important.
"With these offences in mind we would warn people to check their security arrangements and in particular to ensure that doors and windows are locked at all times. While burglary is still relatively rare in this area thieves can be busy in the run-up to Christmas and as a lot of these offences are opportunistic we would appeal to people to take sensible precautions and not give them easy pickings."
Anyone with any information concerning the burglaries at Alvechurch should contact Det Con Flannagan at North Worcestershire CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 470-S-261113, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
