THE IMPORTANCE of looking after your body and mind was highlighted to workers at a Wythall firm.
Phoenix Group, based on Wythall Green Way, held a wellbeing event for staff last Wednesday (November 20) in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.
It is the second year running the firm has held such an event and staff took place in various activities including a 'wake and shake' exercise class provided by Velocity Health and Fitness Solihull, health checks from Lloyds Pharmacy, nutritional advice, laughter yoga, diet and exercise tips and massage demonstrations as well as a wealth of information from the event’s exhibitors.
A new relaxation room for the 600 members of staff on site was also opened. The day raised over £1,200 for the charity.
Sofia Voutianitis, regional fund-raising manager for the Midlands Air Ambulance, said: "We are extremely grateful to be part of their fund-raising efforts, which will help to save lives across the counties we serve."
Lucy Symonds, spokeswoman for Phoenix Group, added:" Our event aimed to promote the importance of health and wellbeing both inside and out of work, and provide staff with access to a wide range of information, demonstrations and advice, whilst fund-raising at the same time for a worthy cause."
