SINGING and unsung heroes are set to combine as a Redditch band headline an evening celebrating residents' achievements.
Borough band Music Like Lemons will be taking to the stage for the Pride of Redditch awards on Friday, December 13, which will see individuals commended for their community work.
Rebecca Blake, Labour Parliamentary spokeswoman for the town, said: "Having seen local band Music Like Lemons a number of times since their first gig last year, they never fail to impress. Not only are they talented, they have a great rapport on stage which makes them really stand out.
"It's very fitting to have Jon, Dean, Charlotte and Roy headlining at the Pride of Redditch celebrations and if you haven't heard them before they are definitely worth coming along for."
Nominations are already coming in for the awards, which are sponsored by the Redditch Standard, but residents have until 5pm on Monday, December 9, to suggest a winner.
Ms Blake added: "I would like to thank people for making their nominations. It's very inspiring to read about the deeds of our unsung heroes and how they are contributing to our town on a daily basis.
"I urge everyone to get on board in celebrating the hard work of others by making nominations. Let's give these people the recognition they deserve."
Money will be raised during the event, which will begin at 7.30pm at the South Redditch Social Club in Greenlands, for the Friday Fun Club which supports young people with learning difficulties. Tickets costing £2 are available by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 07833 771086.
Nominations can be made by filling in the form in this week's paper and posting it to Pride of Redditch Awards, Redditch Standard, Webb House, Church Green East, B98 8BP or by email to email@example.com including the name of your nominee, the reason for nominating them and your contact details including a daytime telephone number.
