A MAN had to be airlifted to hospital following an incident at an Alcester firm.

Ambulance crews were called to Eclipse Tyres on Arden Road just after 11.50am on Monday (December 2). The air ambulances from Warwickshire and Northamptonshire and Strensham also attended.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Crews arrived to find a man at an industrial unit with severe injuries. He received advanced medical treatment at the scene by ambulance crews and medics."

He was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Major Trauma unit in Birmingham for further emergency treatment and his condition was described as critical.

Warwickshire Police were also called to the scene and the Health and Safety Executive is now investigating.

The company has declined to comment at the current time.
