A FAIRY tale became a reality for children celebrating book week.
Year 2 pupils from Beoley First School dusted off their crowns and swords to bring the classic tales to life as part of Children’s Book Week.
The students also baked Cinderella sugary mice and ginger bread men, while reception children made snake jelly, owl ice cream and a Gruffalo cake in honour of author Julia Donaldson’s animal characters.
And to end the day, which aims to encourage children to enjoy reading for pleasure, everyone took part in party games.
