EXTRA parking spaces have been created in the space where empty garages once stood.
A total of 13 spaces and 11 wheeled bin collection points have been added to the Lodge Park area, as well as general landscaping improvements.
The work by Redditch Borough Council, unveiled on Wednesday (October 23), took place around Evenlode Close, Aldington Close, Chaddesley Close, Belbroughton Close and Twiners Road.
A spokesman said the ward was the fourth location - following on from Matchborough, Pedmore Close in Woodrow and Astwood Bank - targeted in a continuing programme which turned old garages, often used for storage as they were too small for most modern vehicles, into new parking spaces and other enhancements.
A garage area off Eckington Close in Woodrow is the next in line for improvements, with residents set to be consulted soon over the proposals which would see 24 old garages removed, a retaining wall rebuilt with new railings, a footpath resurfaced and the addition of a small area of grass. The plans would need approval from the planning committee before they could be carried out next year.
