ATHLETES who brought home 15 gold medals from the Special Olympics were congratulated at a Town Hall event.
Members of the Redditch Special Olympics group, who picked up 25 medals in all at the National Summer Games in Bath, were invited to join the mayor and other borough councillors on Monday (October 14) for a celebration of their achievements.
Chair Sarah Duffin said: “It is a real privilege to be invited and a proud moment for Special Olympics Redditch. It is positive for intellectual disability sport.
“Another games will hopefully be announced soon in another four years but until then the athletes are still competing at regional level, two of them have just come back from competing in Poole.”
