PUPILS got the chance to grill their councillor about issues of concern during a democracy day.
Coun Juliet Brunner met with members of the school council at Matchborough First School on Tuesday (October 15) to discuss her role.
She said: “You can never be too young for politics as the Matchborough First School councillors have shown me. We have to ensure that we enthuse young people about politics.
“The councillors did make some requests about litter, dog poo and the environment but I’m not sure however whether I can deliver on the school pet.”
Headteacher Jackie Harris added: “As a school we feel it is vital children understand democracy and they know they have a right to be heard.”
