WORK is being carried out to prevent flooding in part of Church Hill.
The footpath along the rear of Latchford Close is being improved and raised to alleviate flooding of nearby properties when it rains. Work is expected to take until the third week of October to complete and as a result the path will be closed from its crossing with Church Hill Way to where it branches off towards Merse Road.
A diversion is in place along the pathway running behind Loxley Close and up to Impney Close.
Guy Revans, head of environmental services, said: "These essential works should help with local flood risk. Sorry for any disruption while we carry out this job, we’ve pointed out a diversion because it’s not possible to both rebuild this pathway and keep a route safely open."
