SOME unusual characters will be on show in Feckenham this weekend.
The village's ninth Scarecrow Weekend will be open from 11am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday (October 12 and 13) with residents getting the chance to judge the best entries.
Ian Bellion, from Feckenham Entertainments Committee which organises the event, said: "Once again villagers have been asked to have a bit of fun by manufacturing the most frightening, funny or downright ridiculous scarecrows ever seen. They can make an individual, a group or a whole army of the things. They can be huge or tiny and on previous occasions they've come in all shapes and sizes.
"Last year there were more than 50 displays ranging from the traditional to the creepy, the poignant to the loony. Everyone has a wonderful time making their exhibits and then discovering what everybody else has been up to. It's expected that there will be even more scarecrows this year."
As well as the free scarecrow trail starting at the village square, the event will include refreshments, Stone The Crows and walking, talking scarecrow Willum the Conker.
Anyone coming by car can park for free at Winfields Megastore on Astwood Lane - for those using a sat nav, the postcode is B96 6HQ.
