TEACHERS have joined forces to prove two heads really are better than one.
Lisa Guest and Kathryn Harvey have taken over the running of Woodfield Academy as acting co-heads in an arrangement thought to be the first of its kind in the area.
Mrs Guest has an extensive background in teaching and learning while Mrs Harvey’s experience is with welfare, behaviour and pastoral.
They said: “We are very passionate about Woodfield Academy, its pupils, staff and the future development of the school. We truly believe that our two areas of expertise are needed in leading the school on its journey to excellence, as quoted by Ofsted in June of this year.
“There are many other benefits to us having two heads, such as accessibility - one of us is always available, coverage of jobs is doubled - so more is done. Stress levels are not as high as we share responsibility and there is more creative and collaborative teamwork in school.
“We have put our hearts into Woodfield for over a decade and are proud of everyone and are honoured to be leading the school this term.”
