HUNDREDS was donated in return for coffee and cake during a fund-raising morning at Redditch Town Hall.
Organised by Coun Pattie Hill, the Macmillan Cancer Support event saw residents raising £750 in aid of the charity as part of its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning day on Friday (September 27).
Coun Hill said: “It is all down to the caring folk in this town who made some lovely cakes small and large, those who donated prizes including Marks and Spencer, Boots, Tesco, Omega Therapies and Crabbs Cross Post Office, and my star helpers Betty Whittaker, Pat Rewbury, Joan Grice and Julie Upton.
“A special thanks to all Town Hall staff who gave dress down money too. Our town, our caring residents, our contribution - wonderful!”
Coun Juliet Brunner added: “I lost my dad 17 weeks ago to cancer, Macmillan has been a wonderful support to my family. By holding fundraising events such as these coffee mornings we can make sure everyone has support in their time of need.”
