TOP MEDICS from Redditch were given a clean bill of health at an awards ceremony celebrating their work.
Dr Cathy Dale and Dotty Newton from the radiography department at the Alexandra Hospital were handed the patients' choice award for 'going the extra mile to show a human touch' to their patients.
The pair were presented with their award at a Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust ceremony with former BBC Apprentice Nick Holzherr.
Also congratulated for their work were Marsha Jones, senior sister on ward 11, who was named nurse of the year, and receptionist Thomas Murphy who won the non-clinical employee award.
Anna Leszczynska was named healthcare assistant of the year while Redditch Community Midwifery team won team of the year and Marc Tarrant, A&E junior charge nurse, received the chief executive's special award.
Chairman Harry Turner said: "It’s a great honour to present these awards each year. Reading through the hordes of nominations served as a reminder of why I come to work every day.
"Evenings like this prove to remind us of the truly amazing work that goes on around the clock to ensure that our patients receive a service from their local hospital that they, and we, should be very proud of."
