YOUNG parents in the borough have celebrated completing a six-month course by hosting a community event.
The day recently held at Redditch Library marked the end of the emotional and well-being course run by Jonny Jones from Protective Behaviours UK with funding by Worcestershire County Council’s libraries and learning service.
The event, run by the 19 to 25-year-olds, included an information point to promote services which support victims of domestic abuse, Sure Start representatives, face painting and a story corner.
Mr Jones said: “One learner was successful at interview the day before the event and said what a positive impact the course had played in increasing her confidence to get the job.
“There must have been over 150 adults and children who we spoke to during the event which was extremely rewarding. All the young adult learners were extremely happy with how the event went.”
