ROCK-LOVING residents have the chance to relive their youth with the revival of a borough music event.
Andy Pyatt is set to bring back the regular Kaleidiscope rock evening at the The Valley Stadium, home of Redditch United, which was originally run by Frank Blake in the 1980s alongside an indie night on a Saturday.
Following the recent successful John Bonham memorial fund-raiser, manager Jim Nicholls asked Andy to consider restarting the event.
The DJ said: "The Valley was started by Frank and to many in the town he was the John Peel of Redditch, playing music that most regular pubs and clubs wouldn't touch. There was a big following for it and many up and coming bands also started their careers there.
"He gave us all our musical education and going to The Valley was like a religion. As well as it being a bit of nostalgia for people of that age we'd like to get some of the younger kids down to get them into music."
The first night will run from 7.30pm to 12am on Friday (September 6) and then will continue on the first Friday of every month at the Bromsgrove Road venue, at a cost of £3 per person. If the nights are successful, band nights may also be reintroduced.
