MUSICAL residents could be sharing the stage with a well-known group as part of their national tour.
The members of Blake will be performing at the Palace Theatre next month but are searching for a choir from the area to join in their classic-pop renditions of songs including Hallelujah, Jerusalem and Nessum Dorma.
Their music style bridges the gap between pop and opera, with audiences told to expect an evening of great music and entertainment from the singers whose harmonies and rat-pack banter have been entertaining fans around the world.
All of the members found their love of music at a young age and spent time singing with various groups and choirs throughout their childhood, which has in turn inspired them to invite residents on stage with them,
Ollie Baines said: "We thought about how we could involve school choirs and local community choirs in our live shows and that getting some of the choirs up on stage with us would be a great experience for both them and us."
Stephen Bowman added: "We've always believed that choirs are totally essential to the future of British music and we're proud to be getting great choirs up on to some of the UK's finest stages to show our audiences who the next wave of great performers might be."
Choirs who would like to apply should send a YouTube video link of a performance to info@BlakeOfficial.com with a short description of the choir.
Tickets costing £20 (£19) for the 7.30pm show on Saturday, October 19, are available from www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk or the box office on 01527 65203.
