A MAN has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates charged with arson.
Lee Andrews, aged 30 and of Bridley Moor Road, was arrested on Sunday evening shortly after a blaze broke out on the ground floor of a semi-detached house there.
It was brought under control by the fire service and no one was hurt.
Andrews was charged with arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered, the following day and appeared at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (August 13).
An application for bail was refused by magistrates and he was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on November 13.
