A CIRCUS troupe has been forced to cancel its performance at Morton Stanley Festival after a key member injured herself.
Priscilla, star performer of La Famille Goldini, was hurt during a practice session in France on Sunday (August 11).
She has now been ruled out of action for several weeks meaning the group has had to pull out of this year's festival on Saturday (August 17).
But homegrown talent CircusMASH, who had been set to perform in the festival's community area alongside the French troupe, will now have the area to themselves.
Huw Moseley, Redditch Borough Council’s arts development and events officer, said the council were disappointed to lose them and wished Priscilla a speedy recovery.
"Meanwhile the locally-produced circus performances from CircusMASH, which Redditch youngsters have been working hard on all summer and which was the whole reason we focused on circus in the first place, will be fantastic - and the rest of the festival lineup is strong."
The free Morton Stanley Festival takes place on Saturday from 1pm to 11pm and Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
