Hi: 16° Lo:3° 7 day

RACING with a difference is in store as the Astwood Bank Carnival programme kicks off for the year.
The ferret racing event supported by businesses across the borough will start at 7.30pm on Friday, April 12, at Astwood Bank First School, with the doors opening half an hour earlier. All funds from the night will go towards charities and groups supported by the carnival committee.
Now in its 26th year, the committee has handed out over £150,000 back in to the local community. Events later in the year will include a quiz night, open gardens event, Teddy Bears’ picnic, a fun run and the carnival itself.
