Hi: 15° Lo:3° 7 day

A CRICKETER whose twin babies tragically lost their lives at the Alexandra Hospital is set to take part in a 24-hour Bowlathon to raise money for the delivery suite.
Lyndon Jones, a former captain at Barnt Green Cricket Club, will bowl almost continually from May 17 to the following day to raise money for the Woodrow Drive hospital, as well as St Richard’s School in Bredenbury Court.
He said: “Three years ago, my wife and I lost twin babies. The care and compassion from the staff in the delivery suite at the Alex was fantastic.
“It has always been my intention to complete an event to raise funds for the department, it happens that the time is now right to do so.
“The 24-hour Bowlathon will also raise funds for the school I teach at in rural Herefordshire.”
A prize is also set to be offered to the person who gets the closest to guessing the total number of hits Lyndon makes over the day. Additional donations will also be accepted to book a 30 ball slot where individuals can compete against him in the nets either side.
