A CHURCH Hill man has been charged with possession of a knife.

Valdis Zagorski, of Exhall Close, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Saturday (March 9) charged with possessing a knife in a public place and using threatening words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was arrested after police were called to Barnwood Close in Church Hill around 7.15pm last Thursday (March 7).

That followed reports of people being approached in the street by a man with a knife.

Police later recovered a knife from a garden.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (March 13).
