VILLAGERS in Rowney Green have come up with a wheelie good way of getting drivers to slow down.
Signs bearing the slogan '20 is plenty' have been issued to residents to display on their wheeled bins so every collection day motorists passing through the village will get a clear message speeding is a load of rubbish.
The design was created by Callum Savage following a competition organised by Rowney Green Association and supported by Bromsgrove District Council. It followed several complaints by residents about cars travelling at speeds of up to 50mph along Rowney Green Lane, despite the limit only being 30mph.
Bromsgrove council leader Roger Hollingworth, and who represents Rowney Green, said if the scheme was successful they would roll it out to the rest of the district.
"The speed some people do through the village is unbelievable. I drove through on collection day and it really does hit you 20 is plenty. If this stops and make people think and they slow down then it's a good thing and I hope it works."
