A FARM shop near Alcester has been crowned cream of the crop in the Midlands.

Hillers, based in Dunnington, scooped the title of Regional Champions for Local Food in this year's Countryside Alliance Rural Oscars.

Judges praised the shop for its extensive range of goods including local seasonal produce, cheese, bakery goods and specialist groceries, many of which are grown or reared on their farm.

Fourth generation owners and sisters Sally Haines and Emma Taylor said they were delighted to win such a prestigious award.

They said: "The judges comments really do sum up how we feel about the business - it is not easy in the recession and we know we have to do everything we can to make the most of the customers we have and would like to thank them all for their continued support."

The pair will now go on to represent the region at the grand final on March 13 at the House of Lords in London.
