RESIDENTS in part of Winyates have been left unable to use their showers because of a water pressure problem.
People living in Granby Close discovered their electric showers would not work following a pipe burst in the district two weeks ago.
Phil Bullock told the Standard: "Several neighbours have now complained but we have seen no resolution, I complained about this over 12 months ago as the pressure was low and they replaced the stop cock in the pavement but did no improvement.
"I rang and informed them and they said someone would contact me but they never did, now it is unusable and people are paying for water which we cannot use. One neighbour has already replaced a shower for no reason and I had arranged for a plumber to come out but cancelled before being charged."
He added he felt he had not been informed of the issues or given an apology, while those living in other streets had received a letter from Severn Trent.
A spokeswoman for the water company issued an apology to Mr Bullock and other customers in the close who had been affected by low water pressure, adding only those 'directly affected by water supply issues' had been sent a letter.
"We previously received a report of poor pressure from Mr Bullock in late August 2012 and installed a new external stop tap to help fix the problem. However, we now understand that this may not have resolved the issue," she said.
"In addition, we have identified some further concerns with water pressure in the area following a recent burst pipe, which we are now investigating and are working to resolve as soon as possible."
She added Severn Trent had visited Mr Bullock and other customer in the area on Wednesday (March 6) to see what additional help and advice could be offered.
