Tributes paid to Lakeside street attack victim

TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved biker killed after a street attack in Lakeside.

Nigel Shakespeare died on Sunday (February 24) following the incident which happened as he was walking home from the Kings Arms pub with his partner.

The 50-year-old was taken to the Alexandra Hospital when he fell and hit his head after being punched in Sillins Avenue. He was later transferred to University Hospital Coventry but passed away that afternoon.

Many of his friends in the motorcycling community visited the Beoley Road West pub the evening after his death to remember him.

Residents also took to the Standard's Facebook page to pay tribute to Mr Shakespeare, who was known to his loved ones as Shaggy.
