Suspected Redditch United burglar fails to appear at court

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a man after he failed to appear in court to answer a charge of breaking into Redditch United Football Club.

Aaron Lamb, 36 and of Doverdale Close in Woodrow, was due to appear at Redditch Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (February 26) but did not turn up.

He is alleged to have broken into the premises on Bromsgrove Road on January 25, stealing £500 worth of stock.

Three two litre bottles of Pepsi, 24 cans of Pepsi, one litre of lemonade, 11 cans of 7up, five cans of Carling, six bottles of WKD blue and two cans of coke were taken.

A further 19 bottles of Budweiser, eight bottles of Smirnoff Ice, four cans of Red Bull, three bottles of Britvic orange, 28 bottles of J2O, two bottles of red wine, one bottle of white wine, 1 bottle of Brandy, 1 bottle of Vodka and one bottle of Bacardi were also stolen.

Lamb was also due to be charged with causing unlawful damage to the premises to the value of £500.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed Lamb had not been arrested at the time the Standard went to press and is still wanted by police.
