Hi: 10° Lo:3° 7 day

A GROUP of youths charged with killing a Lakeside man have been released on bail.
Two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to their age, were bailed today (February 26) after an appearance at Redditch Youth Court.
All three were charged with manslaughter yesterday (Monday) following the death of Nigel Shakespeare as he walked home from the Kings Arms on Sunday night.
A post mortem confirmed the 50-year-old had died as a result of head injuries after an incident in Sillins Avenue at 12.25am.
The youths must stay at addresses in Cornwall, Kent and Tyne-and-Wear and must not come back to Worcestershire until their next appearance in court on April 25.
They will be electronically tagged and will have a curfew from 7pm till 7am everyday. They will also have to report to their nearest police station between 12pm and 2pm everyday.
All three were ordered not to contact each other or any witnesses involved in the case.
District judge Nigel Cadbury said he released them on bail after they showed no suggestion they were persistent or violent offenders.
He added: "The bail conditions can deal with the protection of the public and the prevention of you committing further."
