New kitchen puts cooking on school's timetable

IT WAS OUT with the old and in with the new as Feckenham First School refurbished its kitchen.

Pupils can now start to learn how to cook after new kitchen units and equipment was fitted over Christmas.

Workstations which are suitable for both teachers and children mean students can now take part in group cooking and regular lessons.

And after the refurbishment had been completed, IKEA in Wednesbury donated much need cooking utensils and plates.

Headteacher, Jeannette Little said Year 4 cooking classes will begin first as they leave at the end of the year.

She said: "The new kitchen looks fantastic but more importantly it has increased our capacity to provide quality teaching and learning opportunities that should benefit our pupils long after they have moved on from Feckenham CE First School.

"A big thank you to our Governors who have completed this project from start to finish on behalf of the school and to Mr Alf Bartlett who provided the flooring and laid it for free."
