AFTER winning the year six girls district football tournament, Ridgeway Middle School's girls then went one better by being crowned county champions.

After a few tough games, it went to the final match, in which Ridgeway needed just a draw to win the competition, whilst their opponents required victory.

A tense game ensued and the 0-0 scoreline meant Ridgeway became the queens of Worcestershire, which is a great achievement.

The girls now travel to Nottingham University in a few weeks' time to contest the Midlands competition and everyone at the Astwood Bank school wishes them good luck.
