No water and flooded homes after pipes burst

HUNDREDS of residents were left without water over the weekend after a spate of pipe bursts.

A Severn Trent Water spokeswoman said there had been 'several bursts' in the borough which had affected the water supply to 'hundreds of customers', while homes in Studley Road had also been flooded after an incident there.

Engineers were sent out to re-route supplies from elsewhere while tankers also supplied water to properties.

"We'd like to thank customers for their patience while we worked throughout the weekend to repair several burst water pipes in the Redditch area," she added.

"We worked as quickly as possible to repair the pipes, but unfortunately there were several bursts in the same area. All of the repairs are now complete and customers’ water supply is back to its normal high standard.

"The burst that occurred on Studley Road was a large pipe and the water lost unfortunately caused some flooding to properties in the area. Our clean up teams and loss adjusters were out on site as quickly as possible to make sure that we were doing everything we could to help those customers affected.

"We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank the local community for their understanding."
