A MAN has been charged with burgling Redditch United Football Club.

The unnamed 36-year-old was charged earlier today (Wednesday) and is alleged to have broken into the Bromsgrove Road club between Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26.

The break-in caused about £2,000 worth of damage, including 22 gallons of beer soaking through to the changing rooms below the bar, a destroyed pool table and charity money being taken.

He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, February 26.
