A FORMER carnival queen is appealing for Standard readers to help give her the opportunity to represent the UK in an international beauty pageant.
Charlotte Tatlow, the 2011 Astwood Bank Carnival Queen, has made it through to the heats of the Miss Teen Queen contest after being spotted by scouts at the Clothes Show Live.
If the 16-year-old makes it to the final in London this summer not only is she is in with a chance of winning the title, but the opportunity of a professional modelling contract as well as clothing worth £3,000 from sponsors Amplified, Sugar Bullets, Prom Perfect and Guest List evening wear and products worth £1,000 from Fake Bake.
The overall winner will also go on to represent her country at an international beauty pageant in China. The contest also raises money for charity projects in Ghana.
But in order to get to the final Charlotte needs to come in the top two of the public vote in her heat. She was in fourth place as the Standard went to press with less than a week of voting left.
Charlotte said it would mean a lot to her to represent her community and help raise money for charity.
