A WOMAN was sexually assaulted while walking in Winyates Way.

The victim, who is in her 30s, had just got off the bus at 6.50am on Saturday (February 9) and was walking in the direction of Oxleasow Road when she noticed a man standing by some bushes.

As she approached him, she noticed he was exposing himself. When she tried to walk past he put his arm around her back and sexually assaulted her before running away in the direction of Church Hill.

He was white, about 30 years old, 5ft 6in, muscular, clean shaven, had a large nose and was wearing a black hooded jumper, black trousers and was heavily intoxicated.

PC Emily Silvester said: “It all happened very fast and the woman was left shocked and upset by this incident.

"She doesn’t remember anyone else walking nearby but there would have been traffic about including buses so we are hoping someone may have seen the man in the area."

Anyone with any information should call PC Silvester on 101, quoting incident reference 61-N-090212, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
