Public to decide where defib goes

RESIDENTS are being asked to decide which school will be the next to benefit from life-saving equipment.

Robert and Maggie Underwood have been fund-raising for defibrillators in the borough since the tragic death of their daughter Charlotte in 2010 and have now set up a Facebook poll on the Redditch Heart Safe page so the public can choose which school should receive the next one.

They said: "This time we thought it would be nice for the public to choose where they would like the next one to go as a thank you for all their support over the last two years.

"It is going really well at the moment but we do need more people to join the vote.

"It also shows us how much the people want these machines in their schools - a lot of people are asking for first schools to be included which will also help us with the campaign as it shows what the public want and also gets them more involved.

"We are now getting people coming to us asking how they can help their school become heart safe which is great for us."

To vote, visit www.facebook.com/RedditchHeartSafe, which also contains a list of venues in Redditch which currently have a defibrillator, before March 1.
