A FINALIST in TV talent show Any Dream Will Do is to tread the boards this summer at the Palace Theatre in a youth drama group's production of Oliver!
Rob McVeigh, who finished seventh in Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for a Joseph, has agreed to play Bill Sykes in The Harlequins summer school production of the Charles Dickens classic.
He will appear alongside local young performers when the production which takes place on Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17.
Anyone aged eight to 19-years-old who has an interest in performing can now sign up for the summer school which will involved two weeks of intense rehearsals and will culminate in the show. Those attending will be chosen for the roles of Oliver, Dodger, Bet, Bumble and Fagin with Mr McVeigh and Laura Neary, who will play Nancy, the only two professional actors.
There are no entry auditions and no previous experience is required. Summer school takes place from Monday August 5 to Saturday, August 17 between 10am and 4pm. Closing date for applications is Saturday, June 29. Visit www.theharlequins.co.uk for more information.
