Chainsaw cold callers could be in county

COLD callers offering chainsaws to residents could be operating within the county.

The Worcestershire Regulatory Services team has issued a warning to people to be on their guard following safety concerns about the products being offered.

Joint committee chairman Coun Marcus Hart said: "Chainsaws are potentially lethal, unless used by experienced operators.

"We are concerned that equipment like this has been offered for sale within Worcestershire without required safety warnings or appropriate instructions for us. So please be on your guard - and be safe."

Residents are advised to use trusted suppliers rather than purchasing from door-to-door sellers.

For information on rights or to report an incident, call Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0845 404 0506 or to report suspicious activity from cold callers, call West Mercia Police on 101.
