VISITORS to this year's Open Golf Championship will be able to watch the action in comfort in a seat made in Redditch.
Lakeside firm GL events Slick Seating has won the four year contract to supply more than 17,000 seats to July's event at Muirfeld as well as future championships at Royal Liverpool, St Andrews and Royal Troon.
A significant amount of the seating framework which will be used was last seen supporting temporary seating at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London to which Slick Seating was a key supplier.
Scott Hayward, the firm's managing director, said: "We are thrilled to have won the contract to supply seating to The Open Championship, in golfing terms they don’t come any bigger and we are really looking forward to working closely with the client to deliver world class stands for spectators to enjoy the drama on the course."
