Contract bids to help troubled families

ORGANISATIONS are being urged to bid for the right to provide early help services to support troubled families across Redditch.

Worcestershire County Council is looking for a lead organisation to deliver the service for children and young people up to the age of 19 across the borough.

Providers should be able to demonstrate they can offer innovative solutions to meet local needs and demonstrate significant and sustained improvements to outcomes for children and young people.

Research shows for those families where difficulties arise, if they are got to early enough it can prevent them from escalating to the point where a child’s social and emotional development is irreparably impaired and family breakdown.

The contract will be awarded on June 3, 2013 and begin in October for three years with the option to extend it for another two years after that.

The deadline for bids is 4pm on April 11.
