ONE OF Alcester’s most recognisable stately homes is set to star in a new BBC2 drama.

Ragley Hall will form part of the setting for the 1930s period drama Dancing on The Edge, which follows a group of black jazz musicians as they try to win over London’s upper classes.

The stately home will feature as character Lady Cremone’s house and provided the location for a party filmed in the estate’s Stables Courtyard.

The five part series, which includes stars such as Anthony Head, Caroline Quentin and Matthew Goode, will start with two episodes at 9pm on Monday and Tuesday (February 4 and 5). It will then continue on Monday nights at 9pm.

Emma Maguire, Ragley Hall’s commercial manager said: “We were delighted the BBC chose Ragley as the location of Lady Cremone’s house in Dancing on the Edge.

“Being such a grand stately home, Ragley was the perfect venue to feature in this exciting new series.”
