Football
Double delight for Bees

STUDLEY have given their Midland Alliance campaign a huge shot in the arm thanks to successive victories which have lifted them into 16th place, five points above the bottom three.

The Bees, fresh from Saturday’s 3-2 victory at Rocester, then powered to a 5-2 win over Tipton Town at the Beehive on a difficult playing surface on Tuesday.

Studley’s direct style of play paid dividends as they maintained their excellent recent league record over the Black Country side by powering home five goals before the break.

Lei Brown scored a superb hat-trick and further goals from Danny Charlton and Matty Collins delighted the home faithful.

Goals from Karl Edwards and Rueben Wilson gave the visitors some consolation, but by now the damage had been done by Lee Knight’s rampant side.

Studley, who will seek to make it a hat-trick of victories when they host Bridgnorth Town tomorrow before travelling to local rivals Alvechurch on Boxing Day (3pm), were also victorious in Staffordshire on Saturday.

A brace of goals from Collins and another from Charlton earned maximum points for the visitors, who were able to give debuts to new striking recruit Jason Ramsey and Steve Deeley, who has joined from Shirley Town.
