A REDDITCH crew commander has been commended alongside nearly 40 firefighters for completing his training programme.
Robert Birchley from the Birmingham Road station picked up an award for completing his Development Programme at a Celebration of Success ceremony held in Worcester.
Certificates were also presented to Gary King and Jamie Holloway for finishing their Firefighter Development Programme and to Joshua Plumb and Lee Whittington for their Trainee Firefighter Programme.
Chief fire officer Mark Yates, from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said the event gave them the chance to formally congratulate members of staff on ‘a range of personal and professional achievements’.
“Everyone who was presented with a certificate has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to their learning and self-development, often alongside their main role with the service.
“They deserve to be recognised for their commitment and hard work, and I sincerely hope they enjoyed coming together in this way with their colleagues and their families to celebrate their achievements.”
