ONE OF the best loved musical duos in the country is set to take to the stage at the Palace Theatre.
Now on an extensive UK tour due to demand from fans, Chas and Dave found fame in the 1970s with their witty songs about life in London, sung using their own accents.
Hits like Gertcha, Rabbit, The Sideboard Song and Margate have seen them remain popular into the 21st century, playing Glastonbury in 2005 and 2007 and Bestival in 2012.
As well as a string of hit records, the band has also created theme tunes for television shows including Crackerjack and In Sickness And In health.
Their contribution to popular culture was recognised with an hour-long documentary on BBC detailing their career and influence. Based around their 2011 tour, it featured input from Jools Holland, Phill Jupitus and Pete Doherty.
The first half of their show at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 10, will consist of 'Chas and Dave's pub set' ending with Gertcha in 1979. The second will feature all of their hits since then.
