Hi: 8° Lo:2° 7 day

A HOST of events will be held in Redditch and Bromsgrove throughout February to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month.
The Mayor of Redditch, Coun Alan Mason, will officially launch LGBT History Month 2013 tomorrow (Friday) at Redditch Town Hall.
It will feature the first public viewing of a new, locally-made film designed to help combat hate crime.
It starts at 5.30pm in the council chamber.
Artrix is playing host to an exhibition called Otherness: Playing with Gender Representation featuring photographs by John Rae. It starts on Wednesday, running until March 3, and is available to view between 10am and 4pm from Monday to Saturday and on performance evenings.
On Thursday, Bromsgrove holds its fourth annual, family friendly event at the Artrix, which is open to everyone.
It features a children’s entertainer and a free buffet from 6pm, followed by the free screening of the Oscar-winning film Beginners at 7.30pm, for those aged 15 and over.
There will also be information displays from various Worcestershire organisations covering a range of LGBT-related health and social issues.
LGBT History Month recognises and celebrates the contribution made to society by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members of the community. Events have been organised by Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District Councils.
