AN OUTBREAK of norovirus has forced bosses to close the county's hospitals to all visitors.
Visitors are banned from the Alexandra Hospital, Worcestershire Royal and Kidderminister Hospital and Treatment in a bid to stop the winter diarrhoea and vomiting bug from spreading.
Visiting in exceptional circumstances can be arranged with a ward manager by calling the ward directly.
Anyone wanting to visit any of the hospitals should call the Worcestershire Royal on 01905 763333, Alexandra Hospital on 01527 503030 or Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre on 01562 823424, prior to leaving.
Outpatient appointments are running as normal.
Norovirus has hit earlier than usual this year and is causing problems for hospitals across the country. The bug is most active up until March.
Earlier this month routine operations were suspended to try and limit the impact on patients. During November and December about 400 planned operations had to be cancelled and about 120 beds were out of action.
