Daytime burglars target three homes

LAPTOPS and jewellery were among items stolen during three daytime burglaries in Redditch.

All the burglaries took place on Monday (January 28) when thieves broke in to two neighbouring houses in Cheswick Close, Winyates, between 12.45pm and 3pm.

They stole a Dell Inspiron laptop which had an Australian two-pin plug on it, a Panasonic Lumix camera, a white metal bracelet, a ring and a quantity of cash all from the first property and caused several hundred pounds worth of damage.

They then made a hole in the garden fence to get to the neighbours' house, where they caused more damage but stole nothing.

Another burglary took place in Campden Close, Crabbs Cross, between 2pm and 7.15pm.

Thieves stole a large amount of jewellery including a white gold solitaire diamond ring, two men's Fossil watches and a Garmin 305 GPS watch, as well as a black Acer laptop and a white Acer notebook in a black case.

DC Claire Johnson said: "As the burglaries happened during the day we are hoping that someone may have seen the burglars in the area.

"We do not know if the offenders were on foot or in a vehicle so we are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing suspicious activity around either of these areas, especially any cars parked in unusual circumstances."

She added anyone who was offered any similar items for sale should call the police straight away.

Witnesses or anyone with any information about the burglaries should contact Det Con Johnson on 101, quoting incident 473-S-280113, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
