A WYTHALL chip shop will be reeling in the couples for Valentines day with battered chocolate and banana fritters.

The Hollywood Fish Bar will be serving up the sweet treat to residents and their sweethearts at just £1 each from February.

The choconana is just one of the many quirky delights owner Chris Christoforou has cooked up over the years, with everything from deep fat fried Christmas dinners to the egg-citing battered creme eggs for Easter.

He said: "I think it's great to add a bit of variety and it's something which people are really surprised by but then they love it.

"It's a fun way to celebrate the different seasons and festivities. I think people are a bit scared to try them at first but I know everyone who has tasted them can't get enough."

The May Lane shop is open Monday to Saturday from 12pm till 2pm and then again at 5pm to 10pm.
