A DATE has been set for health minister Dr Dan Poulter to visit the Alexandra Hospital to hear the views of Redditch residents.
Following a trip to Parliament by MPs, council leaders and Save the Alex members to speak to him directly, the minister will be in the borough on April 16 to listen to people's opinions ahead of a decision being made on the future of services at the hospital.
Residents are also being urged to back an online petition set-up by Redditch MP Karen Lumley which will be delivered to the Prime Minister calliing on him to retain local services at the Alex.
Announcing the visit, Mrs Lumley said: "I have been in regular contact with the Department of Health and I am delighted to announce that after making contact with the health minister Dr Poulter, he has today agreed to visit the Alexandra Hospital to hear firsthand the views of local people and clinicians."
